More than 70 cross sector leaders have joined the Northern Kentucky Education Council and The Strive Partnership in the creation of the Read On! Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Grade-Level Reading Campaign, a multi-year, multi- dimensional campaign spanning seven counties, two states, and 19 public school districts.

 

The Read On! Campaign focuses on improving 3rd grade reading success through five key strategies: Kindergarten Readiness, Attendance, Summer Learning, Literacy Intervention and Community Will. To help move this work forward in the Northern Kentucky region, the Northern Kentucky Education Council’s Action Team 1 led strategies related to Kindergarten Readiness, Attendance, Summer Learning, and Grade-Level Literacy.  For the 2017-18 school year, Action Team 1 is partnering with Southgate Independent Schools to create a Read On! Demonstration Site, which will provide Southgate School with the resources needed to increase 3rd grade reading proficiency for all of its students.
